"We began with one product in mind and no shortcuts written into the plan."

Djirian is still a small company. That is part of the point. We know every orchard in our story, every decision behind a jar, and the distance still ahead of us.

CHAPTERS 2023 TODAY

Built slowly.
Told plainly.

01

2023 · JULY

Djirian is founded

The company begins with one product in mind and no shortcuts written into the plan. Freeze-dried durian, single-origin, from Di Linh. Nothing else.

The first months are spent not producing, but walking from orchard to orchard, meeting families, tasting fruit, listening.

2023 · LATE YEAR

The first three households

After months of visits, we sign our first partnership contracts with three farming households in the Di Linh highlands. Twenty-eight hectares of orchard between them. Ri6 and Monthong, trees between twelve and eighteen years old.

The contracts are three-year commitments with a floor-price mechanism, designed so that the farmer can plan his life around them rather than around a harvest-day negotiation.

2024

The first batch

The first freeze-drying batches are produced through a trusted OEM partner while we test, adjust, and re-test the 48-hour rule that now governs everything we do.

Rejection rates are high in the early runs. We keep them high on purpose. By the end of the year, we have a product we're willing to put our own name on.

2025

Three packs, one shelf

Djirian goes to market in Vietnam with the three sizes that still define the range today 100g, 150g, and 200g. One fruit, three moments.

The early customers are largely domestic people who grew up around durian and can tell, on the first piece, whether we've kept our promise or not. Their feedback shapes almost everything we've done since.

05

2026 · AUGUST

Hong Kong

We travel to the Hong Kong International Food Expo the first time Djirian meets the world outside Vietnam. We come without a large booth and without a rehearsed story.

We come with three jars, a folder of numbers we're willing to defend, and a hope of finding partners who believe, as we do, that quality is worth waiting for.

ON THE ROAD AHEAD

Our own
facility.

Our own freeze-drying facility is on the roadmap. Until it stands, we will keep saying so plainly. We would rather build slowly and honestly than borrow a story we haven't yet earned.

WHAT WE'VE LEARNED IN THREE YEARS

A small company can only grow at the speed of its own honesty.

That a farmer who trusts you will bring you fruit he would otherwise keep for himself. That the number of shortcuts you refuse to take becomes, over time, the actual shape of your brand.

Three years is not a long time. We know this. But every year that passes without breaking a promise we made in 2023 is a year we've added to the foundation. And we intend to keep adding, one honest year at a time.

THE NEXT CHAPTER STARTS HERE

One fruit.
One honest year
at a time.
